Melanie McMillan is a psychological associate supervised by Dr. Anthony Morice. She was born in Singapore, studied in Los Angeles, and lived and worked in London for many years before moving back to Los Angeles which she now calls home.
Melanie received her bachelors in psychology, minoring in philosophy from Loyola Marymount University. She earned her master’s degree in organizational psychology from City University in London, and consequently worked in recruitment for MI5, the British Security Service, specializing in psychometric assessment. When she moved back to Los Angeles, she focused on growing her family and devoted her time to raising her sons. When her sons were older, she opted to pursue her doctorate through Pacifica Graduate Institute, aligning with their focus in depth psychology. Her focus of research is trauma, working on a modality for treatment particularly for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Melanie is psychoanalytically oriented, seeing therapy as a working alliance between the therapist and the patient to uncover the source of the discomfort. She has worked in community mental health and is now in private practice. She approaches her patients as she approaches life: with a sense of curiosity and acceptance.
